Mephmosa - A Brand New Signature Series Strain

We’d long heard word of Symbiotic Genetics and their insane fruit-forward profiles, so on one our first trips stateside for an investigation we’d highlighted the need to sample our way through their lineup. When we took that first hit of Mimosa, we knew we had a winner. 

We hastily got to work pheno-hunting, and discovered it wasn’t just the flavour profile she was bringing to the table. Vigour, size, density, frost. All bases were covered. Like two giddy kids, we got down to the discussion of which Mephisto strain we would pick for the pairing. Double Grape has long been the G of Mephisto Mountain; sweet, candy grape, potent, insane trichome coverage. We wanted to retain that sweet, fresh OJ wave of goodness, because even though we ourselves are orange-terp-skeptics, something about the Mimosa just always hit different. Pairing her with Double Grape added a little sweetness to the backend, doubling up on the fruit for an almost tropical punchbowl of debilitating headstash goodness.

Mephmosa, along with a community-tested selection of F1 Limited Editions, will be dropping on the 28th of September at 1pm EU, 12pm UK, 7am Eastern, 5am Pacific.

Flash the badge and slip on your sunnies; sliding across the bonnet (or hood, because I’ve been told my writing needs to be more inclusive of our American Meph Heads) and into a grow tent near you, Mephmosa. Arriving with an accompaniment of slap bass, wah-wah guitar and suspiciously convenient stacks of boxes in alleyways; she’ll leave you feeling like taking a rip down a sun-drenched highway in a hot-red Ferrari wearing an eye-melting Hawaiian shirt.

Mephmosa blasts right out of the gate, stretching high and wide, with nugs of off-the-charts density. She’s a thing of beauty that’ll have you admiring her like we all admire Tom Selleck’s perfect moustache. Giving off orange juice and grape candy on the vine, it transitions to a straight-up sweet OJ in the jar before McGarretting your taste buds with orange blossom and sherbet on the palate.

Mephmosa has an obliterating mind warp of an experience. Effects are cerebral, disorienting, and borderline debilitating. Mephmosa takes a comfortable seat on our face-melter podium right alongside Guava Fig and 505 Headbanger, delivering an immediate, disorienting cerebral shift that can leave even the hardcore stoners holding a lit joint in total amnesia. If fruity notes and complete brain-scrambling debilitation are your forte, she’ll happily knock you clean out of your socks with a sack of clementines. Reserve this for the top-shelf head stash, ensure your carbon filters are rated for chemical warfare, and remember: experts only.

Nutes: Remo Nutrients 7 part; Sipco Hygrozyme, Hyshield and Hygroben
Training: Topping, leaf tucking and LST | Cycle: 80 days | Height: 30–34 inches
Plant Shape / Structure: Dense, well-stacked flowers; tight early spacing; multiple tops after topping; more compact than the limited crosses in this grow. Deep purple flowers appeared early and intensified through the fade.
Yield: 135g
Aroma: Fruit and citrus during growth, followed by earthy musk toward the finish and after cure. Citrus musk on the smoke, with citrus especially apparent on the exhale.
Effects: Energetic head high; strong, satisfying effects without burnout, according to Stealth.

Notes: Novice difficulty reported; not fussy or sensitive in this run. Nutrient and watering entries both state 2–3 feedings daily. Seven-day dry followed by one month sealed in Mephisto Grove bags. Overall rating: 5/5.

Stealth’s Mephmosa kept a compact, bushy profile, stacking dense flowers that turned deep purple early and carried that colour into the fade. Fruit and citrus led the grow, with an earthy musk becoming more noticeable toward the finish and a citrus kick on the exhale. The energetic head high made her Stealth’s current daytime go-to: plenty of punch, without the burnout. This detective was happy to take the day shift.

Grower: Enduro

Training: Leaf tucking and defoliation | Cycle: 86 days | Height: 30 inches
Plant Shape / Structure: Bushy structure; Enduro noted that Mephmosa can produce substantial bushes.
Yield: 210g
Aroma: Orange rind, citrus and floral notes during growth. After cure and on the smoke, orange, clementine and tangerine dominate, with background gas.
Effects: Strong but functional stone reported from rosin made from the plant; this is not a separate flower-effects assessment.

Notes: Fairly easy, largely hands-off experience in AutoPots. Enduro flagged light intensity as something to watch. Followed the Athena Blended schedule. Entire plant pressed into rosin; no extraction weight or return supplied. Overall rating: 4.2069 on the form’s 1–5 scale. Grow-again rating: not provided.

Enduro’s Mephmosa arrived as a bushy 30-inch girl with orange rind, citrus and floral notes giving away her location. After cure, orange, clementine and tangerine stayed front and centre, with a little gas in the background. Enduro pressed the entire plant into rosin and described a strong stone that still felt fully functional. Undercover she was not, at least where the orange was concerned.

Plant Shape / Structure: Big, bushy plant with extremely resinous flowers.
Yield: 120g
Aroma: High strength during growth. Orange mimosa, melted Flintstones gummies and a sharp stovetop-cleaner note; unchanged after cure.
Effects: Initially mellow body relaxation and thoughtful sluggishness, building into a stronger head-and-upper-body sensation and euphoria. Potentially sedating for this tester; described as a lazy-Sunday experience rather than a reliably functional one.

Notes: Difficulty: Intermediate. Nutrients: Regular nutrient schedule. Water: Regular water schedule. Trichome production: 5/5. Trim ease: 4/5. Heat sensitivity noted, although the plant tolerated heat. TheMadrek praised the release as worth the wait. Grow-again rating: 5/5.

TheMadrek’s Mephmosa grew into a big bush with enough resin to make grinding the finished flowers a chore. Orange mimosa, melted Flintstones gummies and a sharp cleaning-agent note stayed consistent through cure, while the effects built from mellow body relaxation into a much heavier, dreamy headspace. This was TheMadrek’s lazy-Sunday suspect, with no interest in filing paperwork.

Plant Shape / Structure: Christmas-tree outline with a very busy body. Dense, average-sized flowers were notably uniform from top to bottom.
Yield: 281.58g wet input → 8.12g hash → 7.15g rosin. Stated wash return: 4.03%; calculated from the supplied weights: 2.88% (confirmation needed). Hash-to-rosin return: 88.05%.
Aroma: Medium strength: spice, orange peel and gas during flower. Cured rosin: spicy citrus and funk followed by gassy grape; spice and grape on the palate with funk behind them.
Effects: Manageable, feel-good daytime experience reported from rosin. No separate flower-effects assessment provided.

Notes: Difficulty: Novice. Nutrients: Regular nutrient schedule. Water: Regular water schedule. Trichome production: 4/5. Trim ease: 4/5. Light-intensity sensitivity noted. The grower praised the hash result; the submitted wash percentage conflicts with the weights. Grow-again rating: 4/5.

SilentJ17’s Mephmosa was a busy little Christmas tree, with dense flowers keeping an unusually even size from top to bottom. Spice, orange peel and gas took a turn toward citrus funk and gassy grape in the cured rosin. SilentJ17 described the concentrate as a manageable, feel-good daytime experience, with plenty of flavour left on the evidence table.

Plant Shape / Structure: Overall shape not specified. Deep purple colour and heavy frost reported.
Yield: 112 grams
Aroma: Medium strength. Sweet citrus and oranges throughout growth; gas and citrus-orange after cure; sweet-orange flavour on the smoke.
Effects: Very strong, potentially disruptive to daytime tasks, and sleep-inducing with greater consumption in this account.

Notes: Difficulty: Novice. Nutrients: Regular nutrient schedule. Water: Extra water. Trichome production: 5/5. Trim ease: 4/5. The grower especially praised the purple colour and frost. Grow-again rating: 5/5.

Modkins’ Mephmosa brought deep purple colour and top-notch frost, with sweet oranges throughout the grow and gas arriving after cure. The smoke kept that sweet-orange flavour but landed much harder than a gentle daytime description would suggest. Too much meant sleep for Modkins, so this account belongs on the night-shift side of the file.

Plant Shape / Structure: Wide frame with heavy branching; the grower noted vigorous branch development and larger plant sizes.
Yield: 264g reported
Aroma: Sweet tangerine with background gas. Tangerine gas after cure and in the taste notes; tangerine flavour carried well into flower rosin.
Effects: Very uplifting cerebral high without becoming racy, described as suitable for daytime in the context of flower rosin.

Notes: Overall easy grow, with possible mild nitrogen sensitivity. Normal nutrient schedule. Hand watered on days 1–14, then AutoPots through finish. Pressed into flower rosin. Overall rating: 4/5.

Terp Tickler’s Mephmosa branched out in all directions, building a broad 42-inch frame in 74 days. Sweet tangerine arrived with gas in tow, and that pairing followed straight through into the flower rosin. Terp Tickler described an uplifting cerebral high without a racy edge, with only a possible touch of nitrogen sensitivity interrupting an otherwise easy run.

Grower: Godmodeller

Training: Minor leaf tucking and very limited defoliation | Cycle: 80 days for both plants | Height: 35 inches for both plants
Plant Shape / Structure: Two bushy plants with dominant main colas, one green and one purple. The grower felt the bushy structure might have benefited from more defoliation.
Yield: 156g from the purple plant and 116g from the green plant; 272g combined.
Aroma: Funky orange-juice concentrate during growth, becoming sweeter and less intense toward harvest. Mild tangerine in the cured bag; mild funky citrus, earth and bittersweet chocolate on the smoke. Green plant had more orange character. Exceptionally smooth smoke reported.
Effects: Short-lived head high followed by long-lasting body relaxation. Not overly strong for this grower, who also reported sleeping well.

Notes: Easy grow from start to finish, with no excesses or deficiencies reported. Fed with every watering. Daily watering of 1000–1500ml at pH 6–6.5. Two months into cure. Godmodeller called this their best smoke of the year so far and intended to buy seeds at release. Overall rating: 5/5.

Godmodeller’s two Mephmosa plants finished in 80 days, each reaching 35 inches with a bushy frame and dominant main cola. One stayed green and one turned purple, sharing similar flavour and effects, although the green plant carried more orange. Funky orange-juice concentrate softened through the grow, while the cured smoke brought mild citrus, earth and bittersweet chocolate. A brief head high gave way to lasting body relaxation, earning this smooth-smoking pair a 5/5.

SilentJ17’s Beverly Hills Crop II built a thick-based bush full of tightly packed flowers and a cheese smell that dominated the room. The cured rosin added cantaloupe rind, floral notes and citrus to that dank cheese character. SilentJ17’s isolate experience was intensely heavy and bedtime-leaning, giving this particular sequel a very early closing time.

Beverly Hills Crop II formed a chunky, trainable bush and produced 191g dry. Strong blue cheese met sweet citrus and grape, with the cheese softening into savory funk after cure. Dabs retained that cheese-to-candy contrast alongside a mellow cerebral effect.

Aroma: Medium intensity. Citrus funk; consumed before a full cure, so no distinct post-cure profile supplied.
Effects: Uplifting but strongly intoxicating at larger amounts; grower called it “daytime narcotic” and said excess consumption made tasks harder.

Notes: Three plants in the space; novice difficulty; regular nutrients and watering. Approachable and trainable in AutoFlowerFluff’s view. Personal pain/anxiety relief was reported. Trichomes: 4/5; trim ease: 5/5; grow-again rating: 5/5.

 

AutoFlowerFluff’s Beverly Hills Crop II kept her nodes tight and her flowers round, with golf-ball buds carrying a citrus-funk signature. AutoFlowerFluff found her approachable and easy to shape, and the flowers were enjoyed before a full cure. The effects felt uplifting, but a heavier hand brought enough intensity to put everyday tasks on hold.

Modkins’ G'Knight Rider became the tallest and biggest plant in their Mephmosa group, starting bushy before stretching into a widely spaced frame. Strong citrus throughout the grow picked up stank and funk after cure, while the effects were described as especially heavy, drowsy and sluggish. The scanner was moving faster than the detective.

Yield: 130g and 132g; 262g combined.
Aroma: Mild funky orange oil, with sweet-and-sour candy and orange-zest notes during growth. After two months of cure, orange remained noticeable in the bag with a little cheese emerging.

Notes: Easy grow from start to finish, with no excesses or deficiencies reported. Fed with every watering. Daily watering of 1000–1500ml at pH 6–6.5. Two months into cure. Overall rating: 4.5/5.

Godmodeller’s G’Knight Rider pair wore open frames with dominant main colas and long fan-leaf stems. Mild orange oil moved between sweet-and-sour candy and fresh zest, with a little cheese joining the cast after two months of cure. Godmodeller described both plants as easy from start to finish, with a 4.5/5 overall rating.

Training: Natural | Cycle: 70-79 days | Height: 34-39 inches (~86-100cm)
Plant Shape / Structure: Christmas-tree shape with solid, heavily frosted flowers.
Yield: 184g
Aroma: High strength. Dominant Kush musk, purple grape and mimosa citrus zest; Big League Chew and tangy grape Kool-Aid comparisons. OG Kush musk, grape and citrus remained after cure and on the smoke.
Effects: Immediate head rush followed by a very heavy, euphoric full-body high. JBgrowing started another run after trying it.

Notes: Difficulty: Novice. Nutrients: Nutrient sensitive. Water: Regular water schedule. Trichome production: 5/5. Trim ease: 5/5. Easy, low-maintenance experience despite the nutrient-sensitive selection. Extra verdict: “10 outa 10.” Grow-again rating: 5/5.

JBgrowing’s Grape Walker, Texas Ranger arrived with a Christmas-tree silhouette, solid frosty flowers and enough Kush musk to announce herself throughout the house. Purple grape, citrus zest and Big League Chew character carried into the smoke, followed by an immediate head rush and a heavy, euphoric body hit. The verdict was a repeat run before the case had even cooled.

 

 

Grower: Inappropriately Large

Yield: 771g fresh frozen
Aroma: Sweet grape in the general aroma description; sweet and funky during growth. Grape flavour translated well to dabs. 
Effects: Relaxing, reported in the context of dabs.

Notes: Medium difficulty. Standard nutrient and watering schedules. All material frozen and washed. Inappropriately Large described a good wash yield. Overall rating: 4/5.

Inappropriately Large’s Grape Walker, Texas Ranger built a candelabra frame and finished with 771g of fresh-frozen material. Sweet grape led the aroma, with sweet funk during growth and grape flavour carrying especially well into the dabs. Inappropriately Large described a good wash yield and relaxing effects. The ranger followed the grape trail all the way to the concentrate.

Plant Shape / Structure: Large, branching bush with approximately two dozen tops; rapid branch growth after topping. Taller and larger than Mephmosa in this grow, with slightly less dense flowers, heavy frost and relatively little leaf. Easy trim reported.
Yield: 174g
Aroma: Orange Creamsicle during growth, with O’z funk increasing toward the finish. After cure, the funk leads and creamy, fruity orange complements it; creamy orange funk carries onto the smoke.
Effects: Heavier than Mephmosa but not strongly sedating in this account; described as more in the middle.

Notes: Intermediate difficulty assigned by Stealth because of O’z parentage and perceived nitrogen sensitivity, although less sensitive than other O’z material they had run. No issues reported from start to finish. Nutrient and watering entries both state 2–3 feedings daily. Seven-day dry and one month sealed in Mephisto Grove bags. Favourite of the three. Overall rating: 5/5.

Hawaii Five-O'z filled the available space with roughly two dozen large tops and matching frosted lowers, finishing as the tallest of Stealth’s three plants. Orange Creamsicle notes picked up more O’z funk as the grow progressed, with that funk taking the lead after cure. Her effects landed heavier than Mephmosa’s but still stopped short of a snoozer. Book her for creamy orange funk and a very full canopy.

 

 

Grower: Inappropriately Large

Aroma: Sweet and funky during growth; general aroma described as spicy BBQ. Sweet at the front of the smoke, with a little cheese behind it.
Effects: Not too heavy or sedating; suitable for daytime.

Notes: Easy difficulty. Standard nutrient and watering schedules. All material frozen and washed. Inappropriately Large described an average wash yield. Overall rating: 4/5.

Inappropriately Large’s Hawaii Five-O'z stretched into a roughly 40-inch plant with even main colas and compact flower structure. Sweet funk during the grow came with a spicy-BBQ aroma description, while the smoke opened sweet with a little cheese behind it. The effects stayed light enough for daytime, and Inappropriately Large called her an average yielder in the wash. This island assignment came with its own barbecue.

Aroma: Mild funky orange zest, shifting between sweet orange and zest during growth; Godmodeller compared the aroma to an Old Fashioned. After two months of cure: mild orange with a hint of gas, carrying into the smoke. Smoke described as mild on the lungs.

Sweet orange and zest brought an Old Fashioned to Godmodeller’s mind, then mellowed into mild orange and a touch of gas after two months of cure. Harvest waited until day 94 for drying space to open up, and the smooth orange-citrus smoke earned a 4.5/5.

Indo’s Hawaii Five-O’z stretched early, building a Christmas-tree frame with large, dense flowers and relatively little leaf. Musky citrus and spice settled into a grapefruit-led cure, giving the orange-led line-up a darker twist. Indo described heavy, relaxing head-and-body effects and rated the run at novice difficulty, despite the heat stress along the way.

Inappropriately Large’s Magnum P.I.G finished with a beautifully balanced candelabra shape and a fade worth taking a second look at. Orange citrus led the grow and carried through to the smoke, while the reported effects were uplifting and suited to daytime. The private eye kept this case refreshingly straightforward.

Notes: Easy grow with no sensitivities found. Normal nutrient schedule. Hand watered for the first 14 days, then AutoPots through finish. Pressed into flower rosin. Overall rating: 5/5.

Terp Tickler’s Magnum P.I.G grew into a stretchy 42-inch plant with dense, spear-shaped colas and creamy pineapple throughout. That pineapple carried into the flower rosin with a little astringency, while the effects balanced an uplifting cerebral high with relaxation that did not feel sedating. An easy 75-day run with no sensitivities found earned her a 5/5. This private eye took the tropical assignment.

Aroma: Sweet, complex Five Alive-style citrus during growth, becoming increasingly lime-led. Earthy musk emerged toward the finish and after growth. Mouth-coating citrus on the smoke with a lime-funk exhale.
Effects: Energetic head high; strong but functional daytime effects, with task focus and no burnout reported.

Notes: Novice difficulty reported; not fussy or sensitive in this run. Nutrient and watering entries both state 2–3 feedings daily. Seven-day dry and one month sealed in Mephisto Grove bags. Overall rating: 4.5/5. 

Mango & Cash brought a larger frame than Mephmosa, with chunky tops and lowers and enough stretch to show off her spacing. The flavour took a citrus detour: sweet Five Alive notes gave way to increasingly obvious lime, finishing with a mouth-coating citrus mix and a lime-funk exhale. Stealth found the effects strong and energetic while still leaving room to focus on a task. Mango gets top billing, but lime steals the scene.

Effects: AutoFlowerFluff described a deep stone, calling it “daytime narcotic” and borderline autopilot, while still feeling able to carry out everyday activities.

AutoFlowerFluff’s Mango & Cash carried large, elongated colas with citrus up front and fuel lingering behind. The cure brought deeper citrus and overripe fruit into the mix, with a smooth but weighty taste. AutoFlowerFluff described a deep stone edging toward autopilot, giving this fruity partnership a heavier ending.

breadbox_grows’ Miami Iced kept a classic Christmas-tree outline and showed an early fade, but took longer to finish than breadbox_grows expected. Gassy orange and rubber notes gave way to spoiled-cream funk with orange behind it, while creamy citrus carried on the exhale. Her mellow head high gradually picked up a body component while still leaving breadbox_grows busy around the house: pastel suit, domestic assignment.

SmokinTehHerbz’s Miami Iced kept a short frame and finished with 234g dry in a light-soil experiment. Sharp gas and sugary orange softened into candied peel after cure, while the dabs moved from bitter rind and gasoline to sweet orange and apple. SmokinTehHerbz described a euphoric cerebral lift settling into warm body relaxation, a slower finish to a sharp opening.

Effects: Heavy, foggy and relaxing; evening wind-down, appetite increase and sleepiness with more consumption reported.

Ancient_Kangaroo_492/DK was learning a new fertiliser and believed the plants were first underfed, then overfed; this limits attribution of the difficulties to genetics alone. Ancient_Kangaroo_492/DK’s Starsky & Hooch stayed shorter than expected, with a dominant main cola and respectable flowers along the branches. Sweet citrus and mouth-coating gas made the introduction, followed by a foggier, heavier experience suited to winding down. The evening’s main suspect was the fridge.

Effects: Heavy, relaxing head-and-body experience with a strong appetite increase.

Notes: Difficulty: Novice. Nutrients: Regular nutrient schedule. Water: Extra water. Trichome production: 5/5. Trim ease: 3/5. Modkins found the width difficult to accommodate and described the finish as relatively long. Grow-again rating: 3/5.

Modkins’ Starsky & Hooch grew into the widest bush in their group, carrying smaller, very dense flowers with purple running inside and out. Mint, orange and tropical notes accompanied a particularly heavy, relaxing head-and-body experience. By the end of the episode, the only pursuit left was something to eat.

Aroma: Medium strength during growth: mimosa juice, orange, citrus and a skunky bubblegum edge. After cure: citrus and skunk before grinding; fresh orange mimosa, light alcoholic notes and bubblegum after grinding, with faint pencil shavings and tropical fruit.
Effects: Relaxing and euphoric at first, followed by a hazy, creative, giggly head high with energy and increasing body relaxation. The grower also reported impaired motor control and an intense, dreamy peak.

Notes: Difficulty: Intermediate. Nutrients: Regular nutrient schedule. Water: Regular water schedule. Trichome production: 5/5. Trim ease: 3/5. Strong environmental and heat sensitivity reported, with declining water uptake. TheMadrek described this as a favourite HubbaBubbaHaze F1. Grow-again rating: 5/5.

TheMadrek’s Naked Gum wore orange mimosa and skunky bubblegum on a bushy frame with enormous flower sites, although heat caused real trouble in this run. Grinding opened up fresh fruit, lightly alcoholic citrus and bubblegum, with faint tropical and pencil-shaving notes behind them. The effects were euphoric, hazy and giggly with increasing body relaxation: this particular detective was easily distracted.

Ancient_Kangaroo_492/ DK’s Naked Gum started in bubblegum territory before citrus took over and gas followed it through the door. A dominant main cola sat above popcorn lowers, and Ancient_Kangaroo_492/DK reported a 21% flower-rosin return while keeping the top for themselves. The resulting dabs were described as heady and energising, with a gassy exhale that refused to stay undercover.

Effects: Unexpectedly strong initial body buzz, followed by Haze-like euphoria that JBgrowing felt did not drag them down. Still described as very potent.

Notes: Difficulty: Novice. Nutrients: Regular nutrient schedule. Water: Regular water schedule. Trichome production: 5/5. Trim ease: 5/5. No grow issues reported across two phenotypes. Grow-again rating: 5/5.

JBgrowing found two sides to The Naked Gum: one plant with smaller frosty flowers, another with big, traditional Haze-style colas. Both put OG pink bubblegum first and citrus zest behind it, with a surprisingly powerful initial body buzz that developed into a more buoyant, euphoric experience. Nothing to see here, apart from a very loud bubblegum habit.

Indo’s Naked Gum grew tall and wide, keeping a dominant main cola above her bushy frame. Large, dense flowers carried sweet pink bubblegum, with citrus in the background and a sour edge emerging after cure. Indo described uplifting, creative euphoria, while extreme heat stress added some drama to the grow.

Aroma: Enduro noticed Gelauto #33 character early, followed by citrus and tropical skunky funk as the plant matured. After cure and on the smoke: bright lemon-orange citrus with a tropical skunk finish.
Effects: Initially functional and clear-headed yet strong, followed by relaxation and an uplifted mood.

Notes: Easy difficulty reported, with a strong appetite and substantial growth. Followed the Athena Blended schedule with AutoPot watering. Outdoor anecdote retained separately from the recorded indoor measurements. Overall rating 69/10.

Mr. T.H.C turned up with a big bushy frame and the kind of chunky flowers that earned Enduro’s gloriously unofficial 69/10. Early Gelauto #33 character made way for bright lemon-orange citrus and tropical skunk, a profile Enduro could not stop smelling. The effects started strong but clear-headed, then eased into relaxation with an uplifted mood. She loves it when a plan comes together.
