Introducing the Hall of Flame! And a website update.

Howdy Meph-heads!

 

We've got a few things to go over today: a brand new Hall of Flame feature and how you can get involved, a few upcoming website updates, website bugs we know about and how you can get in touch with us if you have a suggestion or spot an issue. Let's get to it.

 

Hall of Flame

 

Our own Jimbo grows some pure fire plants; you've all seen his incredible images on almost every single strain page on our site. He's even won a few cups for his efforts, notably second place at the 2024 American Autoflower Cup for Best Sativa with Old School Mango Haze and first place at the 2025 American Autoflower Cup for Best Hybrid with Sundae Thumper. But he's not the only cup winner out there growing Mephisto.

We really want to shine a spotlight on the community's best growers, we've added a revolving door section on the homepage to highlight these strains, adding a filter on the main collection page of our strains so you can shop for just the award winners and, most importantly, added to the strain pages a section to really get into the details of the growers who expertly grow their weed. 


So, have you entered a Mephisto Genetics into a cup and won? We'd love to hear from you! Simply get in touch through our contact form with some details! We might ask for some images and a bit of a backstory about your grow and any links to your social media accounts you wish for us to share with the community, and we'd be more than happy to reward you for your time and effort into growing some badass Mephisto.


Website Bug & Updates


We're in a constant cycle of updating our site so you have the best experience when not only buying from Mephisto Genetics, but also when you're simply researching what we have on offer. Since launching our latest website model, it's grown and grown, and a few issues have developed that we're working on fixing.


Products aren't displaying correctly/The filter doesn't work


The main issue we're encountering at the moment is with the display of products on our main collection page. Simply put, we now have more products than the database wants to display, and any workarounds we've implemented have broken the filtering system. The TL;DR is that we're pretty sure we have a fix and we'll be implementing that in the next few weeks. The longer answer is that this is a carry-over from the previous host, and when we moved over to the new host, it wasn't an issue because we didn't have enough products to know how much of a PITA this would turn out to be. However, with a few years of releases under our belt, we've surpassed the max number of products the database is able to display, and that's causing some pretty major issues with people wanting to find the strain for them, especially if that strain happens to start with a letter towards the end of the alphabet. But now we have a fix! So, before the madness of Black Friday begins, you should be able to filter and find your strains, no matter what letter of the alphabet they start with.


Mephisto Strain Finder/Quiz


A long-awaited feature of our site is the ability for someone who isn't familiar with the whole of the Mephisto lore to find the strain for them quickly and easily. I've been trying to push this feature, without much success, for the best part of a year now. However, thanks to the skills of people far more talented than me, we have the bones of something we can implement before the end of the year. A bit of spit and polish on the final set of questions, and we'll be good to go!

The Team Grows

With the addition of Farmer HatBeard to the Mephisto crew, we've got a bunch of content planned. We want to curate a platform and knowledge base to help growers of all experience levels get the most out of their Mephisto autoflowers. We'll also be adding Farmer HatBeard's Seed to Harvest and Smoke Report videos to some of our strain pages, so you can get as much information as humanly possible before you pull the trigger on your next grow. Plus, HatBeard is the coolest of cats, so expect some fun and frolicks on the way.

Quick Links
All of our product pages now show some handy quick links at the top of the page, so you can quickly get to the meat of the matter when you're looking for something specific, whether that's watching Jimbo's Smoke Report, checking out the photo gallery of plants grown by the community, or reading the latest Hall of Flame entries.

Image display
This is something I've been wanting to update for a while. I think we can all agree that Jimbo takes some badass pictures of his plants, but I don't like how I've implemented them on our site, especially when viewed on a desktop. This is something I've been thinking about on how I can fix so Jimbo's photography is given the credence it deserves. Your suggestions are welcome! (More on that shortly...)

Site-wide Search
This is a recent feature that allows you to type whatever you want and find something relevant quickly. Whether that be a strain name or a tutorial for something Jimbo has written a blog post about, this should be your quick access to anything you're looking for.
